Triumph Collegiate Academy
Curriculum
About Our Story
Triumph Collegiate Academy is the result of dreams that were born around 2014. A group of professors, administrators and K-12 educators began talking about a new vision for education. At the time we were all coworkers for the same college. Some of the work that we did required us to deconstruct the existing system of education in an effort to find more efficient pathways to a college credential for our students. We were able to accomplish this as a team but over the years many of us went on to work for other institutions.
In 2019, we began to reconnect with each other. We decided that we wanted to bring the vision we have for education to a broader range of students. Triumph Collegiate Academy is the embodiment of our vision.
What’s Ahead? (A Peek at our Strategic Plan)
We have established a strategic plan for the next five years. This gives us a list of goals that we wish to accomplish that we expect will allow us to refine our model of instruction and eventually open the doors of our academy to more students. We fully recognize that not all students will be able afford private education and for that reason, our vision includes the establishment of a non-profit foundation and charter school.
This is our current long-range strategic plan. We will revise and publish it over time:
2020-2021 : Establish TCA as private model lab school for middle school students. Establish an outreach program for homeschool students using Career and CTE electives. Bring a team of educators together to develop a dual credit friendly High School Curriculum. Establish a non-profit organization that will be focused on ensuring equity in access to quality dual credit programs and college readiness for low SES and first-generation college students.
2021-2022-Open our 9th Grade High School Program. Prepare our first class of 9th graders to pass the TSI and enter college as dual credit or early admission students.
2022-2023- Open our 10th-grade program up to students. Apply for SACS accreditation for our Middle School.
2023-2025: Open our 11th-grade program up to students. Our foundation will begin the process of applying for a charter with TEA to open a separate dual credit based charter school.
2024-2025: Celebrate the high school and college graduations of our first class of students. Apply for SACS accreditation of our high school program. 2025-2026: Apply for the Charter School through our non-profit foundation.

CTE and Electives Catalog
About Our Curriculum
TCA’s curriculum is currently built around a robust CTE and Electives curriculum which is currently in use at a number of accredited schools across the US and Canada. In addition to this, we are in the process of authoring a unique curriculum that specifically aligns to TEA standards in Texas and in the case of dual credit classes fully aligns to SACS-COC and ACGM outcomes for Texas Colleges. We have a team of highly qualified K-12 educators and college instructors collaborating on this project. Our CORE curriculum will intersect with our existing electives program to provide our students with an efficient, engaging, and interconnected learning experience. All of our curricula is fully ADA compliant and meets the standards set forth for accessibility by the ADA.
In addition to being inclusive and non-sectarian, our curriculum embodies 3 values:
- Efficient Pathways to College Credentials
- Self-Directed Autonomous Learning,
- Establishing Confidence in Communication, Critical Thinking, Quantitative Reasoning and Teamwork
- Ample Opportunity for Self-Exploration and Creative Growth
- Authentic Assessment of Student Learning
In 2020, we opened our school in partnership with EDyanmic Learning. This partnership allows us to offer a robust set of career and elective courses. Over the course of the 2020 -2021 academic year, we will work with certified K-12 educators and college faculty to develop a unique CORE curriculum. Our curriculum will feature integrated coursework that meets both K12 and college standards. We excited to be the only company that we know of that is developing courses that are uniquely focused on meeting both TEA and College Standards.
Curriculum Alignment
Curriculum alignment is a complex process that involves ensuring that every course taught meets a rigorous set of academic standards. Our elective curriculum aligns to the standards set forth by several states including the Texas Education Agency (TEA). It is used by many public schools, charter schools, and accredited private schools. It was developed by certified educators and it also meets accessibility standards required for ADA compliance.
Our Curriculum is Powerd by:
Accreditation
Triumph Collegiate Academy takes accreditation very seriously. While we are already able to offer a fully aligned CTE and electives curriculum that meets state and national standards, it will take approximately three years for our school achieve accreditation. This is solely because our school is in its early years. We are preparing our programs and structures for regional accreditation through SACS. This means that we are paying careful attention to our curriculum alignments as well as to who serves on our faculty team to ensure that the highest standards of quality are present for our students. Our dual credit college partners are already accredited through SACS-COC. Thus, when our students graduate from TCA they will receive a diploma and a fully accredited and transferable college credential at any University that is funded by the State of Texas.
A Word of Advice to Homeschooling Families:
The decision to homeschool your learner is one that we support fully at TCA. One of the first things that parents must determine when they make the choice to homeschool involves selecting the right curriculum for their students. Parents will often seek out an “accredited” curriculum.
Please be aware that curriculum companies in and of themselves can not be accredited. Only schools and educational institutions can be accredited.
What most parents are really concerned about is making sure that their learners are continuing to meet the standards that are required by local school districts. This is actually the process of alignment that has been described above. Over the next few years, we are committed to pursuing full SACS accredidation. Our timeline for that process is described in the column to the left.
TCA’s courses are all aligned not only to state and national standards they generally exceed them.
